About Us Sara's Studio Greenhouse lives in a vintage building in a residential area of northwest Joplin, Missouri. For forty years, the building housed Richards Market, a small family owned grocery the neighborhood relied on. Many families in the neighborhood had a "Charge account" and some had their groceries delivered. Columbia Elementary School is around the corner, and the candy counter was a favorite hang-out after school for children, including Sara's son and daughter. When the store closed, Sara bought the building and converted it to her art studio, for her painting, photography, sculpture, and ceramics. Because of her increasing interest in gardening and garden sculpture, she added a greenhouse in the summer of 2000. Inside the Studio, you will find porcelain tile tables, a display of landscape lighting, and Sara's paintings. You will probably catch her working on porcelain tiles or holiday plates. French doors open into the light-filled greenhouse where something is always growing. She says about the greenhouse "It is another artistic expression and a place to dig in the dirt and watch life flourish. Creativity, for me, is not limited to a stretched canvas.?
